Nepal’s Department of Standards and Metrology has prepared final draft standards to tighten quality requirements for mustard, soybean and sunflower oils. The proposed standards classify edible oils based on whether they are suitable for direct human consumption and prohibit the retail sale of oils requiring further processing. Such containers must carry a clear warning stating “Not for Direct Edible Consumption.”
