KATHMANDU: The Department of Industry has directed industries across the country not to discharge untreated or substandard wastewater directly into rivers and streams, citing growing complaints about water pollution ahead of major festivals, including Tihar and Chhath. In a public notice, the department said it had received complaints that industries were increasing river pollution by releasing wastewater without proper treatment or
