Press Council Nepal has strongly objected to incidents in which plainclothes police officers entered newsrooms of various media organizations, detained journalists and attempted to arrest others. Issuing a statement through its spokesperson, Deepak Khanal, the council demanded that authorities immediately disclose the legal grounds for the detentions and the whereabouts of the arrested journalists.
