Travellers returning to India after celebrating Dashain with relatives in Nepal have been forced to wait for hours at Mechi Bridge along the Nepal–India border. The queues formed after Indian security personnel tightened checks at the Indian-side checkpoint, causing delays for people returning after receiving Dashain tika and visiting family members in Nepal.
